The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon’s Health & Fitness Exposition Saturday will be jam-packed with fitness merchandise, inspiring talks and fitness activities for the whole family. The public is invited to attend the Expo from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. in Exhibit Halls 1, 2 and 3 at the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center adjacent to World’s Fair Park.
The Expo, which precedes the 10th Annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, features 67 exhibitors offering a variety of fitness-related products and services. Visitors can browse the booths, shop and hear inspirational and enlightening presentations on the main stage.
All runners and participants must come to Saturday’s Expo to pick up their race packets, and it is the only location for last-chance registration for all marathon events (except for the two- and four-person marathon relays, for which registration closed March 25.)
Presentations on a variety of topics will be presented throughout the day. All presentations are free and seats are available on a first come, first served basis.
Stage presentations will include
Noon – Chris Gillespie, founder and executive director, Team 413 – Gracerunner Ministries. “The NEXT Mile – Blessed by a Burden,” is Gillespie’s uplifting story. Gillespie, who’s been called “God’s personal running messenger,” in 2003 founded what’s become the largest ministry for endurance athletes in the world.
4 p.m. – Chanelle Price, a former Lady Vol who specializes in the 800-meter run and broke world records for the distance medley relay and the 4×800 meter relay with her college team. She also set an American record for the 4×1500 meter relay and won two NCAA titles in the distance medley relay. On March 9, she won the gold medal in the women’s 800 meter final at the 2014 World Indoor Track and Field Championships in Sopot, Poland.
